I have the privilege of serving as the Vice Principal for the Primary School and the Academic Systems Coordinator at GEMS Modern Academy, Kochi. For me, teaching is not merely a profession; it is an unwavering passion that has shaped my life’s trajectory.
My educational journey encompasses a diverse range of qualifications – a B.Tech in Engineering, a B.Ed. in Mathematics and Science, and a Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers. Despite starting my career in the software and construction industries, the calling of teaching never waned. This calling was rooted in the joy I found in helping classmates and neighbors grasp complex concepts during my school and college days.
One pivotal moment in my journey occurred when a young woman from my neighborhood sought my assistance in clearing her degree Mathematics papers. She had faced rejection and despair from others in our locality. Together, we persevered, and she not only passed her exams but also pursued post-graduation and secured a career with the Indian Railways. This experience reinforced the belief that with unwavering dedication and passion, there are no limits to what one can achieve.
Subsequently, I transitioned into teaching Mathematics and Science at a school, where I have dedicated the past 14 years to this noble profession. Each day marked a fresh start, replete with new challenges and the thrill of exploring novel teaching methodologies.
Being a guide and mentor to the next generation is a demanding task, particularly in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, which revolutionized teaching methods. I embarked on a journey of continuous improvement, rigorously evaluating and refining teaching and learning environments to ensure that our students receive the highest quality education.
Effective teaching is grounded in enduring values and qualities. At its heart lies the student. By closely understanding each learner’s individual needs and providing personalized instruction, I have nurtured a profound love for learning in my students. My personal enthusiasm for acquiring knowledge has always been infectious, igniting a passion for learning in every student I teach.
Ultimately, true quality education is imparted with love and devotion by exceptional teachers. As influencers, we must believe in our students boundlessly, transcending all boundaries.
