Five Indian Schools named in Top 10 shortlists for the $250,000 World’s Best School Prizes

This year five Indian schools have been named in the Top 10 shortlists for $250,000 World’s Best School Prizes. The prize was founded last year by T4 Education in collaboration with Accenture, American Express, Yayasan Hasanah, and the Lemann Foundation.

Nagar Nigam Pratibha Baalika Vidhyalaya (NPBV) is a government school in Delhi. Unlike other schools, the institute provides community based intervention and support to bridge the gap between teachers, students and parents. The school has been recognised in the Top 10 shortlist for the World’s Best School Prize for Community Collaboration.

Oberoi International School is an independent private school in Mumbai that aims to provide its students and surrounding communities with hope, empathy, and shared possibility. The institute has also made it to the Top 10 shortlist for the World’s Best School Prize for Community Collaboration.

The Riverside School is an independent International school based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The school has received worldwide attention because of its exceptional student-centric educational approach that involves the CAN pedagogical model. The model has been specifically built by the school keeping the holistic growth of students in mind. It has been named in the Top 10 shortlist for the World’s Best School Prize for Innovation.

Snehalaya English Medium School is a charity school in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The school has transformed the lives of several children suffering from AIDS / HIV or the lives of children of sex worker families or who have ended up in second-generation prostitution. The institute has been named in the top 10 shortlist for the World’s Best School Prize for Overcoming Adversity.

Shindewadi Mumbai Public School (The Akanshka Foundation) is a charter school in Mumbai. It is trying to reverse the impact of low immunity and poor nutrition among students and the community post lockdown. The school was named in the Top 10 shortlist for the World’s Best School Prize for Supporting Healthy Lives.

The top 10 shortlists for $250,000 World’s Best School Prizes recognises institutions that have made a largescale impact on its students and the surrounding environment and communities. The five World’s Best School Prizes that has come down to Indian schools – for Community Collaboration, Environmental Action, Innovation, Overcoming Adversity, and Supporting Healthy Lives is indeed monumental! It is a pride moment for all Indians!
