As the Founding Principal Dr Jyothi Reddy has made The Shri Ram Universal School’s presence felt in Hyderabad. Within five years, she established an IB curriculum based school. She is an NLP practitioner, certified life skills and leadership coach, a life member of Certified Coaches Alliance. She is one of the directors at the Nuway Foundation, an NGO working for women, children and youth skill development. A Rotarian, Dr Jyothi Reddy is currently serving as President elect and district regional chair for Grameena Vikas Programme. Receiving an honorary doctorate in social service and education makes it evident that her passion enables her to go beyond and contribute to the society. Her academic accomplishments include an M. Phil, MA, MBA, B.Ed. with English and Social Sciences, B.Ed. with Hindi and a Diploma in Pharmacy.
Holistic learning in a safe environment is of paramount importance to Dr Jyoti Reddy. She established The Shri Safety Club in collaboration with the Cyberabad Commissionerate at The Shri Ram Universal School. The club conducts awareness drives, workshops, and training programmes to educate and raise awareness about various safety measures under the Physical Safety Club, Cyber Safety Club, Anti-Drug Abuse Club, and Mental Safety Club.
For the physical safety of every member on campus, continuous monitoring of each and every nook and corner of the school through CCTV cameras has been mandated. A vigilance officer has been appointed. There are stringent Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for every activity that involves any kind of risk for students on campus including school transport and home transport for student commute.
Numerous programmes and initiatives such as Interact Club of TSUS, Kids For Tigers, Plant & Promote, Earn & Donate are driven passionately by Dr Jyothi Reddy to inculcate a sense of responsibility towards the society and nature in students as well as staff. These initiatives fall under the two signature programmes called Shri Paryavaran & Shri Dayitv. Shri Dil Se which is the staff wing of Shri Daayitv where staff members do their bit for the community at large is also the brainchild of Dr Jyothi Reddy.
She has been instrumental in recognizing the Green Spirit in our learning spaces. The school received Gold Medal presented by the Climate Reality Project India as a part of their Green Campus Program.
To ensure that inclusive education is imparted in the truest sense, a team of trained SEN teachers, an occupational therapist, student counsellors work in tandem with main stream teachers to support children with special needs. In fact, the department is very sensitively named as Shri Sparsh.
‘Let’s Connect’ sessions led by Dr Jyothi Reddy are put in place to bring parents up to speed on any concern regarding a grade or change of policy. There is a detailed question and answer session where parents’ queries are addressed. She has hosted a series of webinars for parents on various topics and conducted an exclusive webinar on the New Education Policy. She has also created platforms like Shri Samvad/ Shri Saathi where conversations from the heart are hosted on relevant and significant topics by involving esteemed personalities from the society.
She is the brain behind Acharya Devo Bhava, an Annual Global Educators Conference hosted by The Shri Ram Universal School, exclusively acknowledging and creating platform for the teaching fraternity
