Get accredited by 2022 or face stricter consequences

Anil Dattaraya Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) proposed all higher education institutions of the nation to get accredited within the year 2022. He has also mentioned that all institutes will have to furnish their accredited status on their official websites.

At the ‘National Conference on Indian Higher Education’ organized by EPSI and APAI, Sahasrabudhe said “All the technical and higher education institutions should go for accreditation by 2022 to encourage healthy competition among them. This would help improve the overall quality of higher education in the country.”

It is displeasing news to find out that only 15% of the higher education institutes are accredited in the entire nation. The other ones still do not have any accreditation by either of the two accreditation boards, i.e., National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) or the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
