During a review meeting at the Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Development Institute (MCRHRD) on March 10, 2024, Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy issued directives regarding the enhancement of basic infrastructure in government schools. The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure the provision of essential facilities in all government schools, emphasizing the need for a major transformation within these educational institutions. CM Reddy urged authorities to enhance the reputation of government schools, directing officials to supply free electricity to these institutions. Additionally, he advised them to address the provision of essential amenities, including student uniforms, and to consider delegating supervision to self-help women’s groups.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister instructed officials to study and implement effective policies from other states regarding school facility improvements. He also announced that funds for enhancing basic facilities in schools would be expedited through the Green Channel so that funds are directly disbursed from government treasuries and sub-treasuries.
The Chief Minister also advocated for the implementation of digital classrooms in all government schools. Accordingly, officials have been instructed to deliver digital lessons conducted by experienced teachers through T-SAT and prioritize the installation of solar panels in these institutions.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to publish details of all government schools on the official website. Officials have been directed to ensure completion of the required tasks in government schools by the end of the summer vacation and to conduct a thorough study on the National Education Policy implemented by the Union Government.
CM Reddy additionally recommended consulting with academics and intellectuals to enhance educational standards in schools. He instructed officials to establish a governing body similar to ISB to establish a Skill University and pay particular attention to the NAC (National Academy of Construction).
