According to an official statement, Haryana’s Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, announced plans for the establishment of Sainik Schools in multiple districts within the state, through Public-Private Partnership arrangements. This declaration took place during Chief Minister Khattar’s presence at the closing ceremony of the All India Sainik School National Games – 2023, which was conducted at Sainik School, Kunjpura in Karnal. Simultaneously, he announced a grant of Rs 10 crore dedicated to the enhancement of the school’s infrastructure. This occasion witnessed substantial participation, with more than 650 athletes representing various Sainik Schools from across the nation, engaging in a diverse range of sporting competitions.
According to Chief Minister Khattar, every 10th soldier recruited into the Indian Army hails from Haryana. Furthermore, in 2008, the state inaugurated its second Sainik School in Rewari district, and there is an ongoing endeavor to establish another in Matanhail, Jhajjar, with a dedicated 61-acre land allocation in 2021.
