Haryana State Government plans to extend the option of voluntary face-to-face guidance sessions to students of Class 6 to 9 from 15th October 2020. The decision to allow students from 6th to 9th Class to visit schools for doubt solving session has been taken keeping in mind the need expressed by parents and students seek proper guidance from their teachers. The decision to allow students of junior classes also to visit schools amid the prevailing situation of the pandemic was taken in line with Unlock 5.0 guidelines released by the Central Govt recently. Earlier, the state government had permitted Class 9 to 12 students to visit schools for guidance sessions from their teachers from 21st Sept 2020 onwards.

Talking to media persons on Wednesday, the Haryana State Education Minister Kanwar Pal has confirmed that the state government is planning to reopen schools for 6th to 9th Class students soon. He said ““If everything goes as per plans, the students of these classes can consult their teachers from October 15 onwards.” He also said that the move is still in its proposal form and a final decision on this will be announced soon. However, in line with the Central Govt’s guidelines, the state governments plan to reopen schools in the state in a graded manner in order to ensure that all necessary COVID-19 precautions and guidelines are followed.

Guidelines, SOPs Expected Soon

With schools for Class 6 to 9 students slated to open from 15th October 2020, the state government plans to release the detailed advisory with the necessary guidelines and SOPs soon. Despite teaching and non-teaching staff already visiting schools, the state government is unlikely to allow regular classes in schools and will only permit doubt solving sessions on voluntary basis. Moreover, students who want to visit schools from 15th October onwards need to get written consent from their parents saying that they can visit schools to their consult teachers about their doubts.
