Every year to celebrate the dedication and hard work of educators across the globe several institutions come forward. Varkey Foundation is one of the few names that takes a lead in recognizing true educationists who teach to bring awareness and change.
Like every year, the organization is presenting the Global Teacher Prize to exceptional teachers who have transformed the face of education with their futuristic vision and approach. The finalists for this year have been shortlisted and there are truly some mesmerizing profiles! Deep Narayan Nayak and Hari Krishna Patcharu are the two Indians who have been nominated for the Global Teacher Prize 2023.
The former is an educator at Tilka Manjhi Adivasi Free Primary School, Jamuria, Asansol, West Bengal while, the latter works at – ZPHS Ilavaram, Bhattiprolu Mandal, Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh. It is a day of immense pride for India to have educators who made it to the list owing to their sheer passion and love for teaching!
Kim Bearden, Lacey Hoosier, Melissa Tracy, Shawn Adler are some exceptional educators nominated from the United States of America. The list comprises of Aigul Ishangaliyeva, Ana Maria Rusu, Annie Ohana, Bryan Rivera, Eric Asomani Asante, Isa Abbas from Kazakhstan, Romania, Canada, Puerto Rico, Ghana, Bahrain respectively.
A total of 50 educators have made it to the Global Teacher Prize 2023 Final list. The winner of the same will be decided by the Global Teacher Prize Academy. The Academy comprises of head-teachers, educational experts, commentators, journalists, public officials, tech entrepreneurs, company directors and scientists from around the world.
One exceptional teacher will be chosen from the list who would win the prize, that is, a sum of $1 million. As the Global Teacher Prize 2023 approaches, it brings with it a spirit where education thrives and its agents bestowed with due honour and respect.
