Artificial intelligence is not something that schools can restrict or stop. Even some of the international education boards have allowed its usage with certain regulations. We at GD Goenka World School are laying more emphasis on our academic integrity policy and have included content especially on the usage of generative AI like ChatGPT.
The academic integrity policy is not a document filed somewhere. It is shared and discussed with parents and students. The culture of academic integrity is developed in school right from primary to secondary. We have clear guidelines to help students understand what is acceptable and what falls under academic dishonesty. Besides this, we are also sensitizing students about the limitations and potential risks of relying solely on AI-generated content.
It is necessary that they develop original ideas and critical thinking skills for their academic growth. Regular workshops are conducted for students on research and referencing with emphasis on plagiarism and its consequences.
