The schools had obtained land from the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), formerly known as the Haryana Urban Development Authority or Huda at concessional rates. Thus they are obliged to admit students from economically weaker sections (EWS).
The schools also need to submit the fee structure and mode of admission for EWS students. They need to reply within a time period or strict action will be taken against them. It was also stated by HSVP that as per the allotment policy, the management of the schools needs to include urban authority officials in their committee. Executive engineers Bhoop Singh and Rameshwar Das were appointed for schools falling under Estate Office 1 while executive engineers Shweta Sharma and Anil Kumar would look after those under Estate Office 2.
The HSVP administrator of Gurugram, Chander Shekhar Khare said that “These private schools have got land on concessional rates and in lieu of that, they have to provide quality education to students from the economically weaker sections.”
