Hyderabad student of 14 years achieved the unique feat of climbing two peaks in 24 hours in Europe. Hasvi Muriki, a 10th-class student, was part of a 15-member team which undertook the journey on west Mount Elbrus (5,642m) and east Mount Elbrus (5,621m) on Independence Day.

Mount Elbrus is located in Russia and is the highest point in Europe, with two peaks. “I’m so proud of Hasvi doing all this at such a young age. She was always up for challenges, and we will always be supportive of her decisions as parents,” Hasvi’s mother, Madhavi Muriki, said of her daughter’s accomplishment.

She climbed the highest point in Africa — Mt Kilimanjaro (5,895m) in October 2021. She holds the Asia Book of Records for being the youngest girl to climb Mt UT Kangri in Leh-Ladakh, India.
