Students of classes 11 and 12 can now seek admission in IIT Madras for the Bsc Data Science Programme. Working professionals, college students and candidates on a career break can also register for the same. Students who have qualified JEE advanced can directly get admission to the BSc program and can pursue it on a full time basis or while pursuing an ‘on campus degree’.
The last date of application is April 20th. The program is supposed to commence from May. According to the college, this a great opportunity for students to de-stress themselves as they can secure a seat at IIT Madras while at school without much hassle. IIT madras has given permission to students of class 11 to apply for the qualifier process. Students completing class 11 and being promoted to class 12 or students already studying in class 12 can also apply for the qualifier to be held in May 2022. If they get selected, they can start their coursework immediately after completing their 12th.
The number of seats for this programme is not limited. Students clearing the qualifier exam can enrol themselves in the program. “Through this program, we wish to ensure that high-quality education is accessible to anyone who dreams to study at an IIT or build a career in Programming and Data Science. This program, we hope, will be a game changer in the field of education paving the way for many other large scale programs to be offered by us and other institutes,” IIT Madras Professor Andrew Thangaraj stated. The institute has already received 60 thousand applications for the program.
