As the NEP (2020) aspires to push education closer to life, collaboration takes the centre stage. We subconsciously are forced to collaborate because man is a social animal. But in education and classrooms, we prefer individual learning and assessment which does not prepare or reflect real life. In a classroom situation, it is a fact that we all have different skills. When we collaborate, we complement our strengths and weaknesses and learning becomes not just teacher-led but also a scope for peer learning. It eases the stress on the teacher, makes the class more involved and interactive, and speeds up the learning process.
