Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said recently that the draft NEP makes several out-of-the-box suggestions and hence the new educational policy will make India a global educational hub. By August 15 he has urged the public to give their views and suggestions on the draft New Education Policy (NEP).
He said that India to emerge as a vibrant economy, there should be a holistic and value-based education that will lay strong foundations. After releasing a book ‘The Dynamics of Indian Education’ authored by V S Rajput at the vice president’s residence, he spoke on the challenges to Indian education.
He said that there is a need for having a fresh look at the education system as these are the critical times for the country. To make India the knowledge hub, I have been consistently advocating the need for revamping the education system to even make our universities world-class.
He also emphasized on primary education by stating that primary education should be in the mother tongue as it enables learning other languages effectively at later stages.
