Seema Boppana
Academic Director
Sri Chaitanya Techno Schools, India

On technological shift in education

My parents being the front runners of educational excellence in India, I was destined to do something in education as my natural instinct has been to teach and empower children. It was a kind of natural progression. In the last decade, I witnessed the shift in education from typical classroom instruction to increasingly blended digital classrooms, with AI and other technologies sweeping the education sector. After taking the reins of Sri Chaitanya, I witnessed the changes in technology, pedagogy, methodology and brandnew practices in teaching that were unheard of a decade ago.

On women empowerment

We as a nation are still in a transition embracing the opportunities of the modern world. It’s a fact that women in the west have conquered conservatism, coming out of the boundaries, and becoming a dominant social force. Indian women probably need a little more time to truly arrive as global leaders as they are still steeped in traditional values. Modern Indian women shouldn’t let anything come in between them and success, both professionally and personally.

Women remain underrepresented. Devotion to family makes it impossible to put in those hours and their careers suffer as a result. It takes an entire family to enable a woman to get to work and remain free to pursue a career. Everyone needs to come on board to acknowledge that she should go to work, and support her. We don’t need role definition, we need seamlessness. On initiatives to embolden a girl child dreams empowerment of girls is the main focus area for Sri Chaitanya Techno Schools. We want to bestow all our girl students with the required freedom to choose their area of excellence and provide them with all the tools and training to be where they want to be. The future of India is dependent on emboldening our girls to take on future challenges, and grab all the opportunities it presents.

Learnings as an edupreneur

A lot of forethought, research, effort, and energies have gone into creating Sri Chaitanya Techno Schools. From the initial conceptualisation to till date there have been innumerable learnings. We were prepared to take on any kind of challenges in establishing the concept of techno schools and enhance the existing educational system.

Our main objective was to bring innovative pedagogy that empowers students with the right use of technology, training teachers in scientific instruction methods, imparting knowledge that is beyond textbooks and helping learners become well-rounded individuals.
