12000 adults are to be educated under the literacy campaign in Indore. 400 ‘Akshar saathi’, teachers have been appointed to teach these adults.
In an aim to make the state’s literacy rate go up to 100 %, a survey had been performed finding individuals above 15 years of age deprived of any conventional education or any basic education.
New India Literacy Programme started on 1st April 2022 and is planned to continue till 2027. Eligible candidates have already been surveyed that surpassed, 12000 apart from which 7000 appeared in the March exam.
The maximum number of candidates are female, mostly homemakers. Enrollment through mobile application is already in process by the School education department.
The 400 teachers belong to National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme
(NSS), and BEd & MEd students.
