Ujjwal Singh, Founding CEO, Infinity Learn by Sri Chaitanya shares how the IL VISTA platform acts as both a peer and mentor, offering not just analysis and guidance for course correction, but also providing motivation needed for learners to excel

  • How do you define the role of Artificial Intelligence in your school’s teaching-learning process today?

At Infinity Learn, we view AI not merely as a technological advancement but as a revolutionary force transforming education delivery. Our motto “Baccha Seekha Ki Nahi” (Did the child truly learn?) drives our AI implementation. Today, AI serves three crucial roles in our teaching-learning process: as a personalized guide creating tailored learning pathways for millions of learners; as a motivational companion offering timely interventions and progress tracking; and as a governance tool providing educators with actionable insights for improved teaching strategies. Through our IL VISTA platform, AI acts as both a peer and mentor, offering not just analysis and guidance for course correction, but also providing motivation needed for learners to excel. This synergy between AI and education transcends traditional boundaries, creating a dynamic educational ecosystem addressing diverse needs of learners in our rapidly evolving world.

  • What AI tools or platforms (if any) are currently being used in your school? How have they impacted student engagement and learning outcomes?

At Infinity Learn, we’ve pioneered IL VISTA (our Virtual Intelligent System for Tailored Academics) which has revolutionised our approach to teaching and learning. VISTA incorporates several AI-powered tools, including Doubts AI, which provides step-by-step guidance for problem-solving; Check for Understanding (CFU), which creates personalized learning journeys with strategic comprehension checks; and Teacher Aid, which assists educators with lesson planning and pedagogical insights.

These tools have dramatically increased engagement levels among both learners and educators. By offering hyper-personalized learning experiences, we’ve witnessed 2x better results compared to other EdTech platforms. Our successes include securing a 96th rank in JEE Advanced 2024, seeing a 15x increase in learners joining IITs, and having a learner score perfect 720/720 in NEET 2024. Furthermore, we’ve achieved a 7x increase in NEET with 600+ scores. Most importantly, we’ve maintained our commitment to accessibility by using AI to reduce course costs, expanding access to quality education for learners from diverse backgrounds.

  • Do you believe AI can support or replace certain teaching functions? If yes, which ones?

AI can definitely support and enhance several teaching functions, but I don’t see it replacing teachers entirely. At Infinity Learn, our AI-powered VISTA platform complements educators by automating routine tasks like assessment grading, content generation, and basic doubt resolution. For instance, our Doubts AI resolves 75% of learner queries in less than 15 minutes, freeing educators to focus on complex conceptual teaching.

AI excels at personalizing learning paths, identifying knowledge gaps, and providing adaptive content delivery—areas where one-size-fits-all approaches often fall short. It can also enhance objective assessments, track progress patterns, and provide real-time feedback at a scale impossible for individual educators.

However, the human elements of teaching—motivation, empathy, mentorship, ethical reasoning, and contextual understanding—remain irreplaceable. Our teachers provide the emotional intelligence and real-world context that AI cannot. Our approach is therefore “AI plus teacher” rather than “AI versus teacher”—creating a powerful synergy that delivers outcome-based learning at scale.

  • What are the biggest challenges you foresee in integrating AI into everyday classroom practices?

The journey of integrating AI into everyday classroom practices presents several significant challenges. First, ensuring consistent quality across platforms remains paramount—AI tools must deliver reliable, accurate content aligned with educational standards. At Infinity Learn, we’ve invested heavily in quality assurance for our VISTA platform to address misinformation concerns.

Second, maintaining appropriate balance between technology and human interaction is crucial. AI should enhance, not replace, the teacher-student relationship. Third, bridging digital infrastructure gaps, particularly in Tier 2 and 3 cities, poses challenges for equitable implementation.

Additionally, comprehensive teacher training and overcoming resistance to change require sustained effort and resources. Teachers must feel empowered by AI, not threatened. We’re addressing this through extensive training programs and by designing intuitive AI tools like Teacher Aid.

Finally, data privacy and ethical considerations demand robust policies and transparent practices. As we expand to reach 1 million paid learners by 2025, we’re committed to addressing these challenges while ensuring AI remains a tool for democratizing quality education across India.

  • In what ways can AI help personalize learning for students with different needs or abilities?

Our VISTA platform employs knowledge graphs to map each learner’s progress, identifying prerequisite gaps that may hinder performance. This sophisticated approach ensures comprehensive understanding of each learner’s unique requirements.

For advanced learners, the system automatically provides challenging content to prevent disengagement, while struggling learners receive additional support and scaffolding through our Doubts AI feature. Our Check for Understanding (CFU) tool creates truly personalized learning journeys by offering a panoramic view of individualized learning trajectories, employing strategic comprehension checks and focused interventions.

For learners with different learning styles, AI adapts content presentation—visual learners receive more graphical content, while text-oriented learners get different formats. The system also identifies optimal learning times and patterns for each student, sending personalized reminders and creating custom study schedules.

Most importantly, our AI serves as both a peer and mentor during the challenging 3-4 year journey of competitive exam preparation, providing constant support when parents or teachers might not be available, democratizing access to quality education across ability levels.
