Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits for health and towards stress relief, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 11th December 2014. On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2023, schools across India have taken this opportunity to make students and parents aware about the rewards that Yoga offers for health and well-being.

The International Yoga day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and energy at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, Borivali, Mumbai on 21st June2023, where the parents to participated with the students with equal enthusiasm.
The event opened with the morning school prayer followed by the information speech on the importance of Yoga by grade 7 students. All the students from grade 1 to grade 12 participated and performed the various Asanas under the guidance of the excellent sports team. The teachers of DPGA ensured the smooth functioning of the event.
Yoga helps to improve concentration, better functioning and works in the complete development of mind body and soul. This helps students to concentrate in their studies and helps to improve their overall physical and mental health. The International Yoga day became a great success with the school conducting it even for the outside community and for community helpers year after year.
