Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits for health and towards stress relief, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 11th December 2014. On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2023, schools across India have taken this opportunity to make students and parents aware about the rewards that Yoga offers for health and well-being.

As the world woke up to international Yoga Day on 21st June 2023, the staff and students of Gitanjali Devakul dolled up in their comfortable gym wear, prepare to flaunt and flex.
The idea of yoga day was prosed by our honourable Prime minister Mr.Narendra Modi. Yoga embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfill meant, harmony between man and nature, a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.
It was fun to have Devakul’s elite fitness experts practice yoga as they formed numerous poses in the form of sun salutation, tree, seed, child, butterfly cobra and many more in a facile manner. The guest of honour Dr.G.Madhuri, Nutritionist encouraged children to practice Yoga to remain fit, she also stressed on eating nutritious food to be healthy. In addition to this many competitions such as design your own logo and essay writing based on yoga were organised in school. Children enjoyed the session thoroughly and got an opportunity to unleash their creativity and imagination while taking the poses of different asanas taught to them. Regular practice of yoga will surely help our students achieve a better life.
