Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits for health and towards stress relief, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 11th December 2014. On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2023, schools across India have taken this opportunity to make students and parents aware about the rewards that Yoga offers for health and well-being.

Gitanjali Primary School celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21st 2023 , with skill and grace.
Dressed in pristine white, the students were a sight to behold as they performed Surya Namaskar under the open skies in the bright morning sunlight. They also learnt about and performed various other Yogasanas under the able guidance of Yoga Instructor Ms. Kalyani Chintala , thus emphasising their commitment towards physical , mental and spiritual health which is the key to a fulfilling and enriching life .
