An international interdisciplinary workshop on sustainable design has started recently at Navrachana University, Vadodara (NUV) and Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, Israel. The workshop has been named ‘The Small is Beautiful (SIB)’.
This is the third year of the workshop and is being held in Vadodara for the first time. Earlier two years were in Mumbai. The workshop providing a unique design pedagogy was earlier presented at the European Academy of Design in 2017.
This week-long workshop focuses on integrating practice and knowledge from different design disciplines to obtain and develop innovative design ideas for micro living spaces. Prof. Elad Persov along with a team from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design are in Vadodara to conduct the workshop. Prof. Persov is the founder of Design Management Masters course at Bezalel.
The workshop is being organized by Science and Technology Park, Pune and led by architect Roshni Udyavar Yehuda. NUV is the key sponsor and host for the workshop.

They will be targeting issues like increasing housing size, various opportunities of resource, space, infrastructure sharing, design for low-income families, cultural and behavioural designing, etc.
