Jharkhand Cabinet to distribute school bags to more than 37 lakh students

In a significant move aimed at enhancing students’ educational experience, the Jharkhand Cabinet has given the green light to a proposal to distribute school bags to more than 37 lakh students enrolled in Classes 1 to 8 at government schools. The decision, made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Champai Soren, is geared towards ensuring that students have access to necessary school supplies.

Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel announced that the state government has earmarked Rs 57.06 crore for the initiative. She declared that every year, all students from Class 1 to Class 8 will receive school bags, and the price of each bag will range from Rs 140 to Rs 160.

Alongside the school bags initiative, the cabinet approved 53 proposals during the meeting. The decision to distribute school bags is anticipated to give benefits to students in all state government schools, ensuring them a more comfortable and orderly learning atmosphere.
