These are the kinds of questions & comments that come up in UnTaboo programs from 8-18 year olds. The confusion is real and the questions are coming very early on. Present day teens are growing up in a rapidly changing world and they are bombarded with adult content from a young age, leading to enhanced curiosity. But there are hardly any conversations to help them process what they are seeing & hearing. The Internet becomes their ‘go to’ resource, leading to misinformation, myths, and wrong attitude formation.
As adults invested in the healthy development of children, we need to open our eyes to the reality of this generation. We need to get over our personal biases, shift the narrative around sex education and un-taboo the conversations.

Sex education or comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) is an umbrella term and under it nestle hundreds of topics – from understanding bodies and emotions to reproduction, safe sexual practises, consent, sexuality, gender, relationships, peer pressure, appropriate behaviour and inclusivity to name a few. So, when we give sex education to a child, we are not teaching them about sex, we are teaching them the skills required to grow up healthy and safe with a responsible attitude.
It is mission critical today to equip our children and teens with this knowledge. Ultimately our aim, as parents and educators, is to raise positively informed children who grow up to be well adjusted young adults, able to lead safe, healthy & happy lives.
Since 2011, over one lac students, parents & educators across India have benefitted from UnTaboo’s programs that utilize a range of formats and mediums – workshops, plays, books, mind blocking talks, expert webinars and blogs, to name a few. UnTaboo is launching an Online E-learning gamified sex education platform.
UnTaboo offers Safety & Sex Education programs for pre-teens and teens, in the offline and online models, ranging from grade 4 to 12. Carefully designed & curated by experts, their age appropriate programs educate & empower children and teens with all skills necessary to navigate the tricky growing up years safely.
Providing interactive learning and development for the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical well-being of pre-teens and teens, UnTaboo also works with parents and educators to unblock any resistance to Safety and Sex Education and empower them to partner with their children on this journey.
All set to host age-wise and grade-wise programs to tackle the developmental needs of children from 6 to 18 years, these programs give children, parents and schools privacy and flexibility of access. The platform hosts content designed to facilitate independent learning, using a fun gamified learning approach to make the programs engaging and impactful, paving the way for behaviour change.
The program also has bonding activities to facilitate open communication between parents and children, so that crucial conversations on the topic are fostered lifelong.
A dedicated dashboard is provided to parents & schools to monitor the child’s progress and also have access to UnTaboos expert articles, webinars and toolkits to assist them in partnering with the child in this journey through adolescence.
