List of Top 50 Finalists Announced for the Global Teacher Prize 2025

The Global Teacher Prize 2025 has announced its Top 50 finalists, spotlighting educators transforming lives worldwide. These exceptional teachers hail from around the globe, impacting diverse environments from remote villages to bustling inner-city schools. They are innovators, advocates for child rights, and champions of inclusivity, empowering students to thrive through creativity and technology.

Sunny Varkey, founder of the Global Teacher Prize and Chairman of the Varkey Foundation, emphasized the vital role of educators, stating: “The Global Teacher Prize highlights the power of education in tackling today’s challenges, from climate change to inequality. I congratulate our finalists for their leadership in shaping a better future.”

UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education Stefania Giannini underscored the prize’s significance. “In a time of teacher shortages and rapid change, honouring teachers is crucial to creating a just, inclusive, and sustainable future,” she said.

Lisa Crausby, Chief Education Officer at GEMS Education, praised teachers’ transformative impact. “Every day, they inspire and nurture future generations. We’re proud to partner with this remarkable initiative recognizing their dedication,” she noted.

These finalists are shaping their students’ futures and uplifting communities, making them true global champions of progress.
