A Vintage touch to nostalgia
The acorns of grade 7 and 8 from Silver oaks International School had the perfect day – off destination to get soaked in Hyderabad’s history. They visited, explored, inquired and learnt about the Chowmahalla Palace!
They felt as though they had entered another, far prettier world as they passed through the enormous gates. It was covered in numerous antiques that reflected the glorious days of the Nizams. The acorns were frozen in the past, as they reached the palace. There were perfectly groomed lawns all throughout the place. Acorns had the impression that they were the palace’s kings, queens, and ministers.
The Khilwat Mubark had stunning and enormous windows adorned with elaborate stucco work. Tourists were amazed by the chandeliers of Belgian crystal that were mounted inside the exquisitely carved archways. The Khilwat clock, a massive timeless clock, was also placed there.
As the students entered the palace, they noticed exquisite furnishings, ceramics, clothing, paintings, and walls decorated with pictures. There was a blend of Persian, European, Indo-Saracenic, and Rajasthani architecture.
There were several classic cars in the palace’s much publicized corner. Seeing the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost was incredible. The other Mahals were equally captivating.
In conclusion, the acorns didn’t just visit a heritage palace, but were able to learn history through a real life experience.
