The Madhya Pradesh government will conduct Class 5 and Class 8 examinations on a board-exam pattern beginning with the 2025–26 academic session, the Rajya Shiksha Kendra Madhya Pradesh (RSKMP) has announced.

According to officials, the examinations will be held between February 20 and February 28, 2026, across 12,920 examination centres statewide. Nearly 25 lakh students are expected to appear for the exams from 86,109 government schools, 23,980 private schools, and 525 madrasas.

RSKMP Director Harjinder Singh stated that special language question papers based on the NCERT syllabus have been prepared for 20,736 students from 522 private schools. Question papers for all other subjects will be set according to state-prescribed textbooks.

In a significant relief for students, Singh clarified that all eligible candidates will be allowed to sit for the examination even if they have not completed registration. In such cases, the required online details will be uploaded by the respective centre heads after the completion of the exams.

Dedicated IT Portal for Exam Management

The School Education Department has also developed a dedicated IT portal to manage the entire examination process digitally. The portal will handle key functions such as:

  • Student verification
  • Examination centre allocation
  • Centre head mapping
  • Distribution of exam materials

Additionally, processes including roll number generation, admit card issuance, attendance tracking, evaluation, and mark-sheet preparation will be conducted entirely through the portal to ensure transparency and efficiency.
