On 22nd February 2024, Madhya Pradesh’s School Education Minister, Uday Pratap Singh, unveiled the state’s primary education quality report at the state Mantralaya, highlighting achievements and setting future objectives. Also present at the event was Dhanraju S, Director of the State Education Centre, Madhya Pradesh (MP).
The report evaluates the performance of districts in primary education throughout the state, based on data collected up to December 2023. According to the report, there has been a notable improvement in the ranking of Sidhi district, which has surged from 46th to 12th position. Conversely, Sheopur district’s ranking has declined, dropping from 22nd to 45th position. The evaluation criteria include enrollment retention, learning outcomes, teacher development, infrastructure, governance, financial management, and the Navbharat literacy program.
According to Madhya Pradesh’s School Education Minister, Uday Pratap Singh, the report is crucial for guiding improvements. Initiatives like the ‘Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan’ and the introduction of special cards for children from nomadic families play a vital role in ensuring continuous education.
According to the Minister, regarding the provision of school uniforms, uniforms are being crafted by self-help groups in 22 districts, while funds for uniforms will be directly transferred to bank accounts in other districts. Additionally, initiatives like the ‘CM Rise School’ and ‘PM Shri School’ aim to offer top-notch facilities to students. Free textbooks will be distributed promptly, and measures are being taken to minimize student dropouts by enhancing parent-teacher communication.
