Make India a world teacher again

by admin

The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) has been implemented to make India a ‘viswaguru’ world teacher again, said the vice president Mr M Venkiah Naidu in an official statement. The NEP of 2020 stresses on a value based system that is rooted in Indian culture. He gave a call to institutions and teachers to come together in this initiative and implement it in its true essence.

He also gave away awards instituted by the Ramineni foundation to people who had exemplary records in both academic and extracurricular events. “India was once a land of world-class universities like Nalanda, Takshasila, Vikramasila and Pushpagiri. Students from across the globe used to come here for education. India should regain such eminence again,” he was quoted.

He also requested the teachers to make learning a more immersive and enjoyable experience. He wanted teachers to make the process of learning as interactive and communicative as possible. Education and learning, according to the vice president, should be a two way process. He emphasized on modelling the relationship between a teacher and his student on the ‘guru-shishya’ tradition to make education more comprehensive and total.

He also encouraged the teachers to inspire them to be more confident and be full of wisdom. He reiterated the fact that Indian students are full of talent but recognising, honing the skills and perfecting it were the major challenges. He also mentioned how important it was to study in one’s mother tongue. It is time to shed the colonial mindset according to him and return to the Indian ways.

He also presented the ‘Guru Sanmaanam’ awards to the Mandal education officers of Guntur for their exemplary work during the covid 19 outbreak. He appreciated and lauded the teachers especially from government schools for coming up with innovative ideas and ensuring education during the lockdown period.

Eminent personalities like the Andhra Pradesh’s education minister, Mr A Suresh, MP Mopidev Venkata Ramana, Ramineni foundation chairman, Mr R Dharmapracharak, and state BJP president Somu Veerraju and others attended the event.
