Br. Hector Pinto hails from Mangalore who joined the Brother’s Community after which he completed his pre – university education from St. Joseph’s P.U. College, Bajpe. Pursuing his Novitiate – the rigorous & tough training for Brothers, he also completed his Bachelor’s Degree from St. Edmund’s College, Shillong.
Br. Hector Pinto completed his Bachelor’s in Education – B.Ed. from the prestigious St. Francis College in Bangalore and obtained his Master’s Degree from Karnataka University. After serving in various institutions he joined St. Joseph’s College, Nainital in 2017, a heritage all boys residential school with a legacy of hundred & thirty-three years.
St. Joseph’s College, Nainital has a rich legacy of 133 years and the credit of giving an infrastructural facelift and upgrades to the college campus including the Sem Cliffs – a vibrant eco park, with captivating views created by maximizing the available resources goes to Br. Hector Noel Basil Pinto. The St. Joseph’s College Boat House, The Sem Studio – a specialized block for creating and developing online content, Maker’s Space – old bunkered tunnel converted into a modern wood & metallurgy workshop, Squash Courts and the upcoming twin synthetic court tennis facility.
Apart from this Br. Hector Pinto has availed permission for heating and covering the school’s swimming pool. Br. Hector Pinto has also got the modern technique pre – fabricated classrooms constructed to meet the requirements of the growing strength of St. Joseph’s College. He facilitated associations with professionals in respective fields to provide cutting edge training and learning both in scholastic and co–scholastic programmes. The school now provides courses in Astronomy, has got a specialized team to take care of Robotics, Wood & Metal Crafting along with expert coaching for Golf, Swimming, Tennis, Squash and Gymnastics. Periodic teacher training initiatives are also taken up to improve and update the quality of learning at St. Joseph’s College.

He propagated the school’s mission by adopting Technology Aided Education. As a part of technological development and the much-needed utility of the hour for imparting education, he implemented Wi-Fi across the administrative, academic, dormitories and the staff residential blocks.
