Mobile app to find number of children in school launched by Kerala

by

The management information system (MIS) team of the Samagra Shiksha, Kerala has developed a mobile app which will help village education register on children’s education in the State. This will make the job of the enumerators very easy as this android-based app will form the core of a village-level survey.

Samagra Shiksha, Kerala, project director A.P. Kuttykrishnan said that after the Right to Education Act (RTE) came into effect, it became mandatory to collect details of all children of school-going age, to ensure that those in the 6 to 14 age group were getting free and universal education.

The register preparation would involve gathering particulars of children of school-going age in all households, rather than collecting details of children studying in schools. This particular survey is about to bring all children to schools thus making Kerala the first state to ensure this.
