Mumbai schools return to the offline mode

by admin

Schools in Mumbai have opened in full swing. Students are returning to classrooms after a period of two years. Even though school uniforms are not mandatory, it’s a treat to see children wearing the uniforms and returning to their respective schools.

The schools adopted the hybrid model of teaching in October last year. Offline classes were being held for certain standards only for the more senior years.

Pre-primary classes reopened after a hiatus of two years. Attendance is gradually increasing over the months. The BMC has given a nod to the schools having classes in full swing. Students with co-morbidities however still need the consent form to attend classes as they are more likely to fall prey to the disease.

School principals expect to see full attendance in a month’s time. Some schools are continuing with their hybrid mode of education as they want to give the parents some time to adjust to the offline mode in full force.

Some parents are of the opinion that the schools should start the offline mode from the new session as the old session is about to end in a month. As there’s hardly any time left, they want to send their children to school from the next academic session.

According to the parents some of them are still in their native towns and will need some time to come back to the city immediately to attend classes. They will also have to scout for rented homes in the city if they have to attend offline classes.

All schools plan to conduct the final examinations in the offline mode.
