Muthoot Finance Ltd has announced scholarships worth INR 1 crore for academically talented students in Grades 8 and 9 across 788 districts in India for the upcoming financial year (FY26). This initiative, part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, was unveiled during the 15th anniversary celebrations of the Muthoot M George Excellence Awards.
The 2025 Excellence Awards Distribution Ceremony was held on 4 February at The Muthoot Group Head Office in Ernakulam. The event was inaugurated by Smt. R. Bindu, Minister for Higher Education & Social Justice, Kerala, with Shri K.N. Unnikrishnan, Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, Vypin, as the Guest of Honour. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. George Alexander Muthoot, Managing Director, Muthoot Finance, who highlighted the critical role of education in shaping a progressive society.
In the current year, Muthoot Finance has awarded scholarships worth INR 43 lakh to over 1,400 students, reinforcing its dedication to fostering educational opportunities for underprivileged students. Since its inception in 2010, the Muthoot M George Excellence Awards have benefited 10,000 students across India, with total disbursements exceeding INR 3 crore.
Mr. George Alexander Muthoot reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting education, stating, “Quality education is a fundamental necessity for a better life. Our scholarship initiative ensures that financial constraints do not hinder students’ academic aspirations.”
