Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti begins registration for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test 2025

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) began registration for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2025 on July 17, 2024.  Interested and eligible candidates can register for Class 6 admission for the 2025-26 academic session on their official website, navodaya.gov.in.

The JNVST 2025 admission application form is available until September 16, 2024.  Candidates need to apply only once; those who applied previously, will have their applications rejected.

According to the official prospectus, the exam will be conducted in two phases: the first phase on January 18, 2025, at 11:30 am, and the second phase on April 12, 2025, at 11:30 am.

Eligibility Criteria for admission :-

1. Applicants must have been born between May 1, 2013, and July 31, 2015, inclusive.

2 . Applicants, seeking admission must not be class repeaters, meaning they should not have passed Class 6 before the 2024-25 academic session.

Eligibility for rural candidates : –

1. 75% of the district seats are reserved for candidates from rural areas, while the remaining seats are open to both rural and urban candidates.

2. Students, applying through the rural quota must have completed Classes 3, 4, and 5 in a rural area.

3. Candidates, applying under the rural quota must have completed Classes 3, 4, and 5 at a government or recognized rural school.

4. Their Class 5 must have been completed in the same district where they are seeking JNVST Class 6 admission.

5. National Institute of Open School (NIOS) students must submit a rural status certificate, issued by the local authority, confirming a minimum of three years of residency and education in the area.

Urban Candidate Eligibility :-

1. Students who attended school in an urban area for any duration during Classes 3, 4, and 5 will be considered urban candidates.

The exam will be held for a total of two hours, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, and will consist of 80 objective questions worth 100 marks across three sections. Students with disabilities such as Divyang students, will be given an additional 40 minutes.
