14 foreign exam centres have been added for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2024. The notification with regard to this has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Kuwait City, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Colombo, Doha, Kathmandu, Kuala Lampur, Lagos, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah and Singapore are the newly added foreign cities where the NEET UG 2024 examination will be held. United Arab Emirates is the sole country with three cities in the list of medical examination centres while all the other countries have one.
Earlier when the National Testing Agency announced examination centres for the NEET UG 2024, it consisted of 554 centres across India. No examination centre was allocated in the foreign cities. This did not provide interested students to write the examination from a foreign city.
According to the National Testing Agency candidates who have already opted for an examination centre in India at the time of registration and fee payment can now change their examination centre to any of the afore said foreign cities. This change in examination centre will be allowed during the correction window period. However, the correction window opens only after the closure of the registration window.
For effecting this change in examination centre to a foreign city candidates have to pay a differential amount. Candidates who are registering afresh from foreign countries can choose any of the afore said forein city as their examination centre by submitting their registration and paying the required fee.
NEET is the sole entrance exam for undergraduate medical courses in India, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) under India’s Ministry of Education. NTA’s recent move to add overseas centres comes after concerns were raised by expat students over the agency’s earlier decision not to have overseas centres for NEET UG 2024 examination.
