The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has announced the release of the textbooks for Classes 3 and 6, with the updated syllabus, in alignment with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE), in April and May. The NCERT further said that it is making efforts to ensure the timely provision of school textbooks, with approximately 33 lakh books for Classes 1, 2, 7, 8, 10, and 12 already printed and dispatched to bookstores. As per the Council’s announcement, books for classes 3, 4, 5, 9, and 11 are set to be available in the market by this month, while the books for Class 6 will be available in May,
The decision to launch the textbooks during this month and May, follows the directive from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), instructing all affiliated schools to adopt the new syllabi and textbooks starting from the 2024-25 academic session.
