Adrita Sarkar, a student of Raiganj Coronation High School in Uttar Dinajpur, has topped the West Bengal Madhyamik 2025 examination with a remarkable score of 696 out of 700 — an outstanding 99.43%. With dreams of becoming a doctor, Adrita is already preparing for Class 11 and the medical entrance exams.
A Topper with a Steady Approach
Unlike many who follow rigid timetables, Adrita emphasizes the importance of consistency over strict schedules.
“There’s no need for a fixed routine. What matters is regular study from the beginning of the year,” he shared in an interaction with the media.
Adrita studied an average of 8–10 hours a day, although not on a fixed schedule. Despite the intense preparation, he didn’t expect to clinch the top spot.
“I hoped to be in the top 10 but never imagined I’d be the state topper,” he said modestly.
Medical Dreams and Love for Biology
With Biology as his favorite subject, Adrita is focused on a future in medicine.
“I want to pursue medical studies. But if I discover new interests in Class 11 or 12, I’ll stay open to change,” he added thoughtfully.
He’s also clear about using technology wisely.
“Mobile phones are fine if used the right way — especially for studying,” he noted.
Support System: Family and Teachers
Adrita credits his success to the unwavering support of his family and school.
“I’m grateful to my parents, my elder sister, and my teachers. They’ve supported me since the beginning,” he said.
Beyond academics, Adrita finds time to indulge in literature — with Satyajit Ray being his favorite author.
