Roles get reversed at Orchids – The International School (OIS), on national Teachers’ Day. Students of OIS decided to put their own unique spin on Teachers’ Day celebration and decided to step into their teachers’ shoes for some fun role reversal activities. Students dressed up as their favourite teacher and imitated their unique style of speaking and gestures. The theme for the day was “Teaching the teachers,” and as such, some senior students conducted rapid-fire quiz sessions with all the teachers on popular culture. The teachers were also grouped into separate teams in order to increase competition. Even the tiny tots of the school weren’t behind in this fun-filled day. The pre-primary students of OIS organized skits and dances to entertain their teachers.
The Head R&D of Academics, Mr. Shubham Chauhan says “We are pleasantly surprised by the efforts our students have put in to make this celebration so memorable. We feel ecstatic to see our students giving us so much love, respect and valuing our role in their lives. All the teachers enjoyed the role reversal, we believe that learning has no age bar and learning something new from our students definitely brings more joy for us. The act performed by students helps teachers understand their role and impact on every child’s life. The inspiration to improvise on oneself is the key takeaway from this exercise for every teacher.” If imitation is indeed the sincerest form of flattery, then the teachers of OIS were surely flattered to the brim on this teachers’ day.
