K-12 Techno Services discovered in a survey that the parents are in full support of the use of technology to educate in schools which has come up as a surprise of what was expected, the parents seem to believe that technology enhances learning and serves a purpose in school education.
According to the survey, the support though strong, only 28 percent of parents opted for the use of technology being limited to studies instead parents show priority towards education of life skills and the positive impact of technology in a child’s education.
The survey indicates that the parents have been on par with technology and are embracing it as a part of their lives and their children’s lives and wholly believing that it shapes individuals into a better version of themselves.
The report received insights from over 3,000 parents of children from different educational boards across various regions to spot the patterns and trends in schools and understand the ideal school experience of the Gen Z children.
A contradiction however has been noticed that 87 percent of parents actively support the implementation of technology in schools but the rules change at home, it has been noted that different restrictions were set up on children from different households. The awareness towards the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has seen positive numbers however majority of the parents also lack awareness or perceive it negatively.
Activity-Based Learning (60.47 percent) and Skill-Based Learning (53.44 percent) are the most recognised components of NEP 2020.
The survey has figured that majority of the parents are unaware.
Majority of the parents wish for their children to spend time in non-screen activities to avoid spending too much time on the screen and staying in touch with nature, setting up barriers to tackle addiction.
