CBSE began its post-result psychological counselling from May 13 which will extend till upto May 27. Both students and parents are going to be facilitated out of the counselling sessions. The board has specified how it has counselled students and parents alike for the past 25 years to overcome some really common psychological problems. The post-counselling sessions are said to be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, students and parents will receive counselling sessions that is especially suited to tackle exam related mental health problems. In the second phase, students will get tele-counselling services by experts of various educational fields. “During the 2nd Phase, a total of 59 principals, trained counsellors, and special educators from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools and psychologists will be available for Tele-Counselling. Out of these, 53 are from India, while 6 experts are from the United Arab Emirates and Oman,” the official statement read. The tele-counselling number has a centralised toll-free access. Students from any corner of the country can get tele-counselling helpline services. The CBSE website has the tele-counselling helpline number mentioned where students can easily get help. According to the statement, “Students can dial a toll-free number 1800-11-8004 from any part of the country which will give centralized access to CBSE tele-counselling Helpline, information and helpful tips to parents and students in case of result related anxiety or stress. The ‘counselling link’ on the CBSE website also provides helpful information and helps stakeholders in multiple ways.”This is a really progressive step by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Such endeavours are expected in the future as well!
