President of Ghana receives an Indian Accolade

The Minister of Education of Ghana, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, received the Dr. Kalam Smriti International Excellence Award on behalf of Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The award ceremony was organized in the memory of Dr. Kalam Smitri. An honorable man, he was a visionary who desired India to become a sustainable economy through pragmatic, home-grown policy initiatives. The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries including Members of Parliament, philanthropists and Ministers of State.

In his speech, Dr. Prempeh, shares the achievements of government such as the rollout of the Free Senior High School policy, the One District One Factory initiative and the Planting for Food and Jobs programme. The focus has been to improve country’s human resource and ensure sustainable development.

Praising India’s pivotal role in inspiring sub-Saharan Africa for self determination, further in his speech, the minister stated his confidence. “The two countries will continue to develop the warm relations they have enjoyed over the years.”
