PSEB declared no re-evaluation, remuneration of re-checking will be increased

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has officially declared that students will no longer need the option to apply for re-evaluation for the board exams from 2024.

Previously, candidates taking the board examinations were granted the opportunity of re-evaluation by the board. However, due to the delay in result declaration, associated inconveniences for examinees, and certain technical reasons, the board has made the decision to discontinue the re-evaluation provision starting from the March 2024 examinations. The re-checking of answer sheets will, nevertheless, continue as usual, according to an official notification.

PSEB has stated an increase in the remuneration provided for marking the solved answer sheets during the examinations. According to the official statement, there will be an adjustment in the compensation for teachers evaluating Class 10 answer sheets, with the new rate set at Rs 8.50 per marked sheet, as opposed to the previous rate, Rs 6.25. Similarly, teachers assessing Class 12 answer sheets will now receive Rs 10 per marked sheet instead of Rs 7.50. These revised rates will be charged from the March 2024 examinations. PSEB released the schedule of Class 10 examinations which are to be commenced from February 13 and conclude on March 5, 2024. Likewise, Class 12 exams will take place between February 13 and March 30, 2024. The examination sessions will run from 11 am to 2:15 pm.

Furthermore, to raise the standards of the 11 Adarsh ​​Senior Secondary Schools under PSEB, they have decided to implement specific changes related to school activities, infrastructure, financial reforms, and teacher training. There will be a uniformity introduced in the uniforms of students, morning assembly prayers, school songs, and logos across these schools.

To ensure efficient teaching during the absence or vacation of a teacher, the timetable for group classes in these schools will be aligned with each other. This will enable students utilizing online resources (Kyan) to be instructed by a teacher from another school when needed. Additionally, a dedicated website for the Group 11 Adarsh ​​Schools will be created which will be linked to the Board’s main website.
