Punjab school education department is conducting exams online on a bi-monthly basis for students of classes VI to XII. In this regard, the department had also organized a webinar to provide extensive training to teachers for smooth completion of exams as well as evaluation of answer sheets. About 30,000 schoolteachers from state government schools attended the webinar along with top officials of the department.
“The question papers are being prepared by the head office and will be sent to the teachers online. Every exam will be of 20 marks and there will be both objective and subjective questions. The results will be declared in a week after the last exam,” commented Krishan Kumar, Education Secretary. Kumar further added that teachers are well aware of digital tools and applications provided at their disposal indispensable for evaluation and declaration of results.
“The enrollment has increased to the tune of 11.58% and more than 1.26 lakh students have migrated from the private schools to government schools,” further added Kumar.
As per reports, concerned subject teachers will be allotted a week’s time for assessing the papers and preparing marksheets in collaboration with the class in-charge. The government will regularize bi-monthly tests across all its schools in the state.
