Rajasthan Colleges to Promote Students without UG/PG Exams

State UG/PG exams stand cancelled as the government announces promotion of all undergraduate and post-graduate students amidst soaring cases of COVID-19, announced Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan . In all the Rajasthan colleges, universities and technical education institutes, exams remain cancelled.

Gehlot concluded the points in a meeting on July 4. Students’ grading will be supervised by the Ministry of HRD.

“The state government has decided not to conduct examinations for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in all universities, colleges, and technical educational institutions in the state in view of the infection situation of Corona epidemic. This decision was taken at a high-level meeting at the residence,” reads a tweet posted by Gehlot as he shared the news on his personal twitter handle.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of State for Higher Education, Bhanwar Singh; Minister of State for Technical Education, Subhash Garg and Higher Education Secretary Shuchi Sharma among other top officials.

MHRD and UGC are likely to issue new guidelines delineating on students’ marking patterns that would be adhered to by the institutes for promoting students.

In other news, the state Health Minister Raghu Sharma has said that the government is speculating to implement a new chapter on the COVID-19 pandemic in the school textbooks from the coming academic session.
