- Over 200 female students were presented awards by the RSOS who qualified their Class 10 examinations as part of Project Pragati
The Rajasthan State Open School (RSOS) presented awards to over 200 female students on February 17, 2024, who qualified their Class 10 examinations as part of Project Pragati in a joint event together with ‘Educate Girls’. It is a non-profit organisation promoting girls’ education in rural India.
Project Pragati has been implemented in nine districts across Rajasthan. It is a second chance programme by ‘Educate Girls’ to empower out-of-school adolescent girls and young women to obtain their Class 10 certification through RSOS. Prerak, a community member of the programme, has been playing a major role in identifying out-of-school adolescent girls and young women, enrolling them in a government open school and also supporting their exam preparation through village-based learning camps.
The RSOS mobile app was also launched which has been developed with ‘Educate Girls’. It seeks to make the enrolment and examination process accessible for open school students.
The RSOS and the Rajasthan Textbook Board have been making effective contributions to the education sector in Rajasthan. For students whose education has been interrupted, the RSOS has provided the opportunity to take their class 10 and class 12 exams.
