On August 17, 2019, the School Fagadaba scheme (Make education better) has been launched by Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh to improve the infrastructure of government schools in the state. He said to ensure better infrastructure, quality education and overall improvement of government schools to make them model schools, is the basic objective of this scheme.
To ensure regular attendance of teachers, he said biometric devices would be installed in schools. For at least three years teachers would stay at the place of their posting as mentioned by Biren Singh.
One school from each of the 60 Assembly constituencies in the state have been selected in the first phase of the scheme. So to improve the government schools conditions and to increase the enrollment of students is the overall objective.
