Owing to heavy rains and landslides, schools in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab will remain closed today. The step comes in for the welfare of students who might otherwise face risk. Torrential rain in Delhi have caused havoc in the city. Various places in Delhi remain water clogged such as ITO, Barakhamba Road, and IGI Airport. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has stopped operations at various places due to water accumulation on tracks. There have been landslides in different districts in Himachal Pradesh such as Mandi, Kullu, and Chamba. Schools and colleges in the state will hence, remain closed today and on 11th July. Rains also hit parts of Punjab. Important places like Amritsar, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana remains water clogged. People have been evacuated from low-lying areas in the city. Necessary precautions and safety measures have been declared. Educational institutes in above mentioned places will remain closed today because of how monsoons have paralyzed parts of the country.
