All schools in the Ghaziabad administration in Uttar Pradesh would remain closed from July 26 to July 31 in wake of the ongoing “Kanwar Yatra”. District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey has issued the instructions to the schools about the same.
The order said that all the schools have been instructed to follow the instructions strictly.
Keeping in view the increasing number of devotees crossing the district during the celebrations of Shivratri & the possibility of the closure of the roads for the movement, the order has been issued. It has also been done considering the safety of children and for maintaining law & order.
An annual pilgrimage of Lord Shiva’s devotees is the Kanwar Yatra. These Kanwarias who are pilgrims visit Haridwar, Gaumukh & Gangotri in Uttarakhand as well as Sultanganj in Bihar to fetch holy waters of River Ganga.
To facilitate the movement of Kanwar’s, schools in Haridwar, Meerut and now Ghaziabad will remain closed during Shivratri.
