Due to the heavy fog, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated on Tuesday (December 20, 2022) that all schools would start their days at 10 am from December 21 through January 21. He declared that the schools & closure hours will not change.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader announced in a Punjabi tweet that government, aided, recognised, and private schools would start at 10 am from December 21, 2022, to January 21, 2023, due to the state dense fog. Schools currently open at 9 am and close at 3 pm. Bathinda is the coldest location in Punjab, recording 3.4 degrees Celsius.

According to the weather service, isolated areas of Haryana and Punjab will likely see a mild to severe cold wave, while the majority of the country will likely have dense to very dense fog over the next four to five days.
