Skill development will be a mandatory subject in the school curriculum of classes 9 to 12 in Haryana, the chief minister of the state, Mr Manoharlal Khattar stated on Sunday. It has been implemented to make the youth of the state more self-reliant and self-sufficient. The chief minister of Haryana, mentioned that the government has been working tirelessly to provide quality and employable educational facilities to the students. The chief minister said this while attending and addressing an event at the Haryana school education board campus in Bhiwani.
He also articulated how skill universities were the need of the hour, and how they were working on installing them across the state. The first however has been installed at Palwal. He mentioned in an official statement how the National Education Policy of 2020 (NEP 2020) will bring revolutionary changes. Apart from education and employment, this policy aims at making the students cultured and self-reliant so that the youth of our country can become world leaders again.
He also mentioned how the government was prioritizing artificial intelligence other than technical education that was being imparted to the students and to make education more industry oriented.
The new subject of ‘skill development’ will be a compulsory subject for classes 9 to 12. It is being done to make the youth more self-reliant in all aspects, the chief minister of Haryana, Mr Manoharlal Khattar stated.
Apart from declaring skill development a compulsory subject for classes 9 to 12, the chief minister of Haryana also inaugurated astronomy labs in Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School and Government Girls Senior Secondary School at Bhiwani. After the inauguration of the labs, he interacted with the students and mentioned how the prime minister of the country, Mr Narendranath Modi has insisted on making the students more inclined towards the science subjects. All of this was being done to do away with the existing bias of students of government schools being confined to the general curriculum. According to the government, even poorer students will get better access to education and learn about the mysteries of the universe.
