Growth relies on competitiveness, innovation and skills to a major extent and innovation does not always require one to invent but also reinvent. Creative pedagogy along with adaptability and productivity is a wonderful recipe to bring the desired change. At BCM school, we are open to adopt new approaches.
Advancements in contemporary world require new types of knowledge, latest ways of learning and futuristic ideas of doing. It is increasingly difficult to predict what type of businesses will emerge in the future job market. Thus, the required unique talents, knowledge, skills, creativity and of course educational changes that aim to cultivate this diversity are all presented on a platter here. Our innovative ventures comprises of an Entrepreneurs Club where students learn to earn right from the initial years and a Tuck Shop that is solely run by the budding marketers.
The skill development process inspires students to think beyond grades. It helps them tap into their capabilities, develop real-life skills, and prepares them to be successful in the careers of their choice. It facilitates students to explore and think out-of-the-box along with the freedom to think independently. It inculcates team spirit, critical thinking, problem solving, inquisitiveness, trustworthiness, assertiveness and empathy in students.
All of these result in creating a solid foundation for a successful academic and professional future. Education and skill development must go hand in hand in preparing students for the demands of today’s challenging world. To accomplish present educational goals, the need is to cultivate ability based learning by training students to be curious learners, risk takers, and doers. The strategies involving students like role plays, dramatization and gamification of learning has equipped students to adeptly navigate the world. Thus, we facilitate students to move beyond the simple consumption of all that is around them into becoming innovators who produce ideas, products and solutions for a better world.
‘Becoming what we are expected to be ‘ is the tagline for the future. New education must teach children to classify and reclassify information, evaluate its veracity, change categories when necessary, move from the concrete to the abstract and envision the problems with a new perspective. Creating a balance between challenges and rewards has developed our students into being self- reliant, erudite, law abiding, committed, resilient and well-adjusted citizens. The onus lies on all educational stakeholders to design transformative spaces across campuses for inspiring, and encouraging students to become designers, developers, collaborators, and 21st Century leaders.
Role plays, dramatization and gamification of learning has armoured students to navigate the world
